Twisted Roots is proud to assist the CSUS Alumni Association with honoring the Distinguished Service Awards recipients of 2010. Twisted Roots wine was served at the dinner honoring the recipients.

Twisted Roots is owned and operated by Twisted Roots Wine LLC and is a certified green grower. Our wines are grown from grapes using Sustainable farming practices. Partners in this LLC are:

• Ross Schmiedt, a local farmer and winemaker for over 30 years.
• Mike Hodge, owner of Organizational Development Services Plus, a local training and development company.
• Josh Ruiz, Director of Lettuce Operation - Northern California, Tanimura and Antle.

One dollar for every bottle sold will be donated to the ALS Association, Greater Sacramento Chapter. The Twisted Roots label started with a Petite Sirah in 2005 produced by Ross. Mike and Josh joined Ross in 2009 so that production could be expanded to include other varietals. In the Spring of 2010, Twisted Roots will introduce its first Chardonnay, to be followed later in the year by a Cabernet Sauvignon. Twisted Roots popular Petite Sirah will continue to be offered and a new 2010 vintage will soon follow. Plans are in the making to bottle a"1918 Old Vine Zin" in 2011.

Centered in the heart of the Lodi appellation, Twisted Roots Wines is the work of three generations of family members dedicated to the practice of growing great wine grapes. Lodi boasts a classic Mediterranean climate consisting of warm days and cool evenings accented by a gentle maritime wind from the Sacramento River Delta. This delta breeze makes Lodi unique among other areas of the San Joaquin valley as the lower temperatures allow the ripening fruit to retain natural acidity.
