on April 15 for online customers who purchase 3-pack
CARMEL VALLEY, Calif., — A proper wine tasting normally takes place in a crowded, convivial tasting room — with plenty of sipping, smiling, handshakes and hugs.
Due to social distancing rules surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, that isn’t possible at this time. But Twisted Roots Vineyard has found an alternative to visiting its Carmel Valley tasting room. Thanks to online purchasing, convenient shipping and the virtual conference app Zoom, Twisted Roots winemaker Josh Ruiz can lead wine enthusiasts through an interactive tasting of the winery’s finest vintages.
Twisted Roots is currently offering a free virtual tasting on April 15 when customers purchase three bottles of wine (Chardonnay, Cabernet and Petite Sirah). The total cost for the wine is $60 (more than a 30 percent discount). What’s more, Twisted Roots has waived delivery fees for customers in Monterey County.
Upon purchase of the three-pack through this link on the website , customers will receive a Zoom invitation to participate in the virtual tasting with Ruiz and his wife Julie. The 45-minute tasting begins at 5:30 p.m. SOLD OUT...more to come!
Twisted Roots Petite Sirah pairs perfectly with steak and Grower’s Pub in Salinas offers bottles to go!
Despite its name, Petite Sirah is not a lesser version of Syrah (or Shiraz). In fact, there is nothing petite about this full-bodied wine filled with intense berry flavors, followed by a smooth, subtle finish.
Twisted Roots Vineyard began producing hand-crafted, small-lot Petite Sirah in 2005. The deep-red, intense, highly tannic wine quickly earned distinction as the perfect pairing for steaks and roasted meats.
For the week of April 13, Twisted Roots Petite Sirah will be the featured wine for all to-go orders from the popular Grower’s Pub in Salinas. Fans can order anything from the menu and receive a bottle of Petite Sirah for only $25.
A restaurant known for its Salinas tradition and flair, the Grower’s Pub is known for its legendary prime rib and steaks, using only certified Angus beef. Perfect pairings for Twisted Roots Petite Sirah include: Prime New York steak with blue cheese butter, potato, garden vegetable medley;
